Chris O.
sheds a little
light on getting the most out of
your compact fluorescent bulbs.
A little education
goes a long
way.
"Compact fluorescent lights put out a LOT of light for
the amount of power they consume but you need to be
mindful of the color temperature of the bulb. I prefer a
softer light for lighting large areas (2700K) but for the
bathroom areas and task lighting for the kitchen and
my desk I prefer a greater contrast so I go with a
daylight bulb (5000K). Most people are used to a
warm color hue from the "soft light" incandescent
bulbs . . . click here to read

James E.,
SustainLane founder, wouldn't live without his organic
mattress.
Chemical Free
Sleeping at its Best
"The typical mattress and box spring is soaked in a
strange brew of fire retardant chemicals,
formaldehyde, and other toxic glues, stains, and
coatings. These chemicals off-gas for up to 10 years!
Many of these chemicals have been linked to all sorts
of health disorders. Most disturbing, is that there is a
growing body of evidence that SIDS (sudden infant
death syndrome) is linked to this chemical off-gassing
in baby mattresses . . . Click here to read
