Green Score:
The listings on SustainLane
just got a face lift.
Improved colors, buttons, and the never before seen
Green Score are just a few of the cool new
parts of
product and business listings. Green Score is
a rating
system where you vote on whether or not a product is
sustainable.
Rate it in terms of six important categories: Good
for
Me (e.g. healthy, organic), Good for the
Community
(e.g. fair trade, socially responsible), Good for the
Planet, (recycled, local), Over-hyped (not
as green as it
seems), Expensive, or Doesn't Work.
Plus--you don't have to write a review to add your
Green Score! The average will be displayed
in the
listings as an easy at-a-glance way to find out about
how green a product or business is.
Check out the Green Score on this Organic Deodorant by
Miessence! (And the awesome review by Tammi B.)

While you can't control your genetics, one risk factor
related to breast cancer that you can control is the
amount of toxins you are exposed to. Christine V.
shared this powerful new book about the toxins in
everyday environments with everyone in the office.
Dangerous Chemicals in Toys, Lotions,
Electronics
"The full title of this book is: Exposed: The Toxic
Chemistry of Everyday Products and What's at Stake
for American Power. You may have heard about
the
dangers of parabens in cosmetics or pthalates in
children's toys, but did you know that many US
companies manufacture the same products they
make in the US for the European Union WITHOUT
those dangerous chemicals?. . . click
here to read more"
James E.
recommends colon cleansing as a way to strengthen
your immune system against toxins.
Netty L. recently
gave up antiperspirant to reduce the amount of
parabens and aluminum in her personal care
products by switching to Tom's of Maine Deodorant.
Enter this week's contest by writing a review at SustainLane
about steps that you take towards
preventing cancer
and type cancer into the keywords.
The winner will receive a Susan G.
Komen 14 Ounce Travel Mug.
