47% of survey takers planned on passing out treats on Halloween. One user planned to give out fancy pencils to trick or treaters. Other creative alternatives to candy included: bouncy balls, coupons, little bottles of bubbles, and one user was planning on re-gifting little toys collected from conventions.

32% of survey takers made homemade costumes to save money, and 18% chose to use homemade costumes to protect themselves and their children from exposure to PVC, lead, and other dangerous chemicals.

The most popular Halloween movie survey takers were planning on watching was The Nightmare Before Christmas.
