African Nectar
Description: African Rooibos tea in biodegradable pouches.
Mighty Rooibos!
Mighty Leaf makes some fantastic teas -- and it provides them in fancy little pouches that are way different from the paper teabags in most teas. These pouches feel like silk and are stitched with unbleached cotton string (not a staple or glue). You may wonder -- "how is that green?"
These little pouches won an award for "best new green packaging" in 2006. The tea bags are made of polylactic corn that is GMO-free and which show off the tea leaves even more than the original silken mesh pouches did. Once the tea pouch has been wet, it will begin its course of biodegrading, which takes about a year.
Their passion for high quality tea comes through in the products -- I like the Rooibos tea and will happily drink it when I'm not at home with my own collection of loose leaf teas and infuser equipped teapots.
