Does anyone really need convincing

Owning a bike is cheaper than owning a car. Duh! I just sold my 10 year old Honda Civic, it only had 40k miles on it, so clearly I wasn't driving it much. I quickly calculated my cost savings per year based on insurance, garage rent, gas, maintenance, license, registration, and misc. other car-related expenses like parking and tolls, which adds up to 3k. That is like getting an extra raise, each year. I find that cost savings amazing, and even when I add in costs for using IGO car sharing and occasional cab rides I am still saving money overall. People who drive more than me, have a car payment and spend more on gas, maintenance or parking clearly can be saving much, much more each year. Car-sharing makes this an easy choice for most people close enough to a location. I've found it easier than I'd imagined, and just wish I'd sold my car years ago! This doesn't even begin to address all of the environmental benefits...
