Comments on Cris' review of Basic G
Basic-G is a fantastic product, but use sparingly and with caution.
I’ve been using Basic-G for years as a multi-purpose germicidal cleaner, because it is an EPA-registered product that cleans, disinfects and deodorizes like no other product I know. Basic -G effectively kills nearly 50 known pathogens, i.e. Salmonella, Candida, Fungi, Staph, E.Coli, Herpes, and HIV 1; in pet areas, it destroys Feline Leukemia and Rabies. Basic-G is highly concentrated; it only takes ½ ounce/gal of water (a dilution of 1:256). You must use rubber gloves, and it’s recommended to use safety goggles (I would think particularly in enclosed spaces), so your skin does not come into contact with it. And, keep Basic-G away from children, as it will burn skin and eyes, and very harmful if swallowed. Ingredients: Inert 83.83%, dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride 6.47%, and didecyl dimethyl ammonium chloride 9.70%. It’s pH neutral. I think that Basic-G should be a standard disinfectant in every hospital, institution and home.
