Great review, Jay. I drive a diesel, too, and although I think biodiesel is a great alternative, I'm skeptical that it will ever be a mass produced substitute for current petroleum consumption. I've read several articles about biodiesel production that highlight the vast amount of land it takes to produce any significant amount of biodiesel. Algae appears to be a possible biodiesel source that's not quite a resource intensive, but I've also heard reports that the algae are genetically modified to produce fuel. With all of the various negative factors, driving less seems like a good approach!!
