BPA Free Plastic Waterbottle

I have owned one of those backpack Camelbaks for about as long as i can remember. I take it hiking, or especially snowboarding, where you can get dehydrated easily and it doesn't make sense to go inside after every run to drink some water. However, i never owned one of their actual waterbottles.

When i finally stopped buying bottled water, i got a Nalegene because it was what everyone else at my college had. Then i learned all the terrible things about plastics and about Nalgene in general, so i switched to a Klean Kanteen.

I recently got one of these new BPA-free water bottles from Camelbak, and I am very surprised. It is still plastic, but it is BPA free, and it avoids that metal taste and the grating sound i get from my Klean Kanteen. I'm not throwing my Klean out, but i am definitely stoked to have another indestructible plastic bottle, similar to my old Nalgenes but without all the baggage and chemicals those had.

Plus - i just read this on Camelbak website - "The company seeks to be a leader in offering BPA/Phthalate-free products. CamelBak has issued a promise to transition all its products and make them BPA/Phthalate-free by this summer."

Rock on Camelbak! I can't wait for the next backpack that is also BPA free!

Check out the cool plastic bottle I found at nubiusorganics.com - BPA free, corn based and biodegradable with a carbon based filter that removes chlorine and organic contaminants from regular tap water.
