Cafe Gratitude
Oh Cafe Gratitude. Luckily, I am not allergic to nuts so I can enjoy the fabulously nut-laden treats they conjure up here. The vibe at Cafe Gratitude is great, unless you are looking to quietly study and/or sulk in a post-modern artistic fashion- you'll probably be asked "How are you courageous?" by your server. The funny part is that they expect an answer.
The food is really good if you are veggie, and if you want to feel good about yourself and eat raw food every now and again. Overall, the nut-meat base of everything is too heavy to have more than a couple times a month for me, but the smoothies keep me coming back for more.
If you're not feeling very new-agey, beware, and take a friend with you so you can stay engaged in the conversation of your choice and not end up discussing "Why you are beautiful?" with a complete stranger.
Overall, good food- you just have to be in the mood for the atmosphere.
