We Decide! Eliminate Unwanted/Unsolicited Catalogs
I'm getting more, not less now that the holidays are fast approaching. I'm talking about catalogs, lots and lots of catalogs. Catalogs are mounting into stacks in baskets, spread out neatly on the coffee table, end tables, and stuffed into nooks and crannies here and there...my mailbox is so crammed with catalogs these days, it looks like I'm delivering an over-sized baby, as I tug and pull yet another bundle of unsolicited catalogs from my box.
Last week, I finally had it, and decided to do something about the problem that wasn't going away by itself. Prior to find out about the online beta program "Catalog Choice", I spent hours calling toll-free numbers, pressing keys on my phone to channel my call through a myriad of menu options, wait, wait some more, until there was a real person in customer service to speak to, only to request that my name and address be removed from their catalog mailing list.
Once you sign up for this FREE service, Catalog Choice gives you a simple and easy tool to search their database for a catalog and decline it using your customer number located on the back of each catalog, near your name and address. If they don't have the catalog, you can suggest they add it to the database. Your name and address shows up in the appropriate boxes, so all you have to do is find your customer number on the back of the catalog, enter it and click 'Decline Catalog'. You can continue to search for and decline catalogs or view your choices.
How about that...a program that let's us decide what ends up in our mailboxes, just like the 'no call' programs that block unsolicited phone calls!
