If you only go to Chabot for one thing - let it be SonicVision. It might sound hokey or cheesy - I'll grant that parts of it are a bit overdone or dated - but it is really fun and a tremendous artistic effort.
Chabot has this tremendous dome theatre -- it's not just used for light shows but for movies and educational astronomy films. They have a great gift shop and the whole center is really a fun educational experience.
If you haven't been - I highly recommend it. Don't waste any time - sign up for tickets and spend a Saturday afternoon there seeing the exhibits and get in for the light show in the evening.
