City Car Share rocks

Let's face it, more and more people will do it in the future in big cities. That's not really a secret, car sharing is growing exponentially in cities across United States and before that in Europe.

City Car Share service is good, they have a lot of cars and a lot of locations. The cars are in good condition and latest models. They also have a few trucks if you need to move big stuff. In my neighborhood there are 4 City Car Share lots within two blocks from my house. On street cleaning days I parked my car much further than that. Not to mention that I sometimes forget where I parked :(

One problem with City Car Share, is that it became so popular that for a period it was actually hard to get a car if you don't do it a day ahead.

Good for:
Reducing cost of car ownership, if you mostly drive in the city it is really cheap on an annual basis
Parking shortage
Cars are $$$ and you can use the money for other stuff (equity!)
Reduce environmental impact. Cars take a lot of energy and commodities to produce.

Not good for:
If you need a car for work
If you drive a lot
If you need a car available always on a moments notice.
Out of the city trips are expensive, you might as well just rent a car for a day.
