Description: California cuisine and catering with organic ingredients.
I don't even know where to star with this place. I guess a good starting point is their green cred, since this is after all a green reviews site. Well that is very simple - everything that possibly can be is sourced locally and organically (local before organic). You can definitely taste the difference - the veggies taste like they were picked that morning, which, most likely, they were.
As for overall taste - this is one of the best restaurants i have been to in this city so far. The truffle flat bread - OH MY GOD! They also had some really solid crudo, and the fish of the night (skate when i was there in a brown butter sauce) was one of the most interesting fish dished io have ever had. Soft and flaky - it was almost a pastry - a delicious pastry! The one thing i would caution - everyone told me to get the fried green beans - my vote there is... eh? It was certainly a taste i have never had before - they were fried in a light tempura batter that somehow made the greenbeans keep their flavor which is SO HARD to do with something fried. At any other restaurant i would say they were great - at CoCO i would say there is too much great food to get something merely good.
Plus - Jen is awesome, and is going to kill on the next season of top chef. O JEN!
