Makes you want to build something
I used to dread the countless hours I would have to spend with my dad in Home Depot. I never knew that I too would one day begin a love affair with a hardware store.
Not only does this little neighborhood shop have everything you could ask for from a hardware store, the Cole Valley location is a SF certified green business. They have a great recycling program to help residents safely dispose of bulbs, batteries, printer cartridges, and latex paint. They have a bring-your-own bag incentive AND you get a free Cole Hardware tote when you sign up for the Cole Frequent Shopper's club. They have tons of environmentally products including organic herbs, recycled paper towels, compost bags, and super-cheap CFLS (like 50 cents a bulb!)
