Debunking an Autism Theory
Description: An editorial on the link between autism and childhood vaccines.
Are You Joking? Don't be so naive!
Mercury was not removed from children’s vaccines in 2001 - what happened was that the FDA approved new lower mercury formulations then and the vaccine companies started their factory up. The high mercury vaccines continued in use into 2005 (they have about a 3 year shelf ilfe and are cheaper than the low mercury kind so doctors stocked up on the high mercury stuff).
The flu shots doctors are pushing at pregnant women and children TODAY have always contained high amounts of mercury, as well as other regularly given shots which contain metals such as lead and cadmium.
And by the way, many of the old vaccines containing huge amounts of mercury and other toxic metals are now being sold to the third world countries by US and European companies, even after their products have been banned at home.
Adam, the study you reference studied 38 children. Are you seriously saying that you now have enough information to make a decision? 38 people? That's a joke. The NIH just canceled a study on chelation and autism in children, most likely because of what they were afraid to find out...that thousands of parents TODAY have been treating their kids with DMSA and DMPS with great results...meaning reversal of autistic tendencies. Seriously for one moment consider the litigation that would result if it were definitively known that mercury in children was the direct link to autism and other childhood diseases? There was a time when the AMA stood by when cigarettes were advertised as good for your digestion, and DDT was good for you. Vitamins were laughed at by doctors in the 60s...they said there was no such thing as free radicals. The medical profession is sometimes 50 years behind the times when it comes to treatments and science. I have personally gone through chelation therapy, and I can tell you I had no side-effects and amazing results. I have seen my lead, mercury, and cadmium levels drop, as measured by an independent third party lab. Keep researching Adam.

Adam W. says:
It seems to me that we are talking about several different things. The study referenced above talks about a link between MMR vaccines and autism - it doesn't detail mercury at all. According to the article, neither does the original study. You are absolutely right - 38 children is absolutely not a good sample size. What I think is more relevant in the article is that there was only one study ever conducted that showed a correlation between MMR and autism, and the author of that study has since been disgraced, causing 11 of the other scientists who did the study to withdraw their support of it. Since then, no one has been able to recreate the original study - when i was in college, we called that a false positive. A study is scientifically deemed useless if it cannot be replicated.
I don't know anything about the AMA blocking new studies, but it certainly would not surprise me. That however does NOT mean that anyone has proven anything. An industry will lobby against such tests even if there is a 0.1% chance that they will come out bad for the company.
As fro DMSA and DMPS I am certainly glad to hear that you never had any side effects. However, just as with the 38 children in the study previously mentioned, the data size there is way too small. A quick Google search turns up hundreds of pages of people who claim to have had problems. That doesn't mean there are problems - just that we need more testing.
Basically, I think that based upon the science that is currently out there, no causation has been proved. I am a huge proponent of more testing - I can't imagine many better ways to spend tax dollars than trying to reduce the occurrence of Autism in our nation. That being said, until someone can really demonstrate that there is a link here, I would kindly ask parents to stop putting both their own children, and all the rest of our children (speaking metaphorically, as I do not have a child) at risk by not inoculating them.
James E. says:
Well, Galileo was disgraced too, as was many other first-mover scientists. The establishment is not kind to heretics. The MMR link to autism was due to the metals used as preservative inside the vaccines. As for not being able to duplicate the study...have you ever heard of the "observer effect?" It's a very interesting theory that says the people doing the experiment exert a force on the actual outcome, thus changing the outcomes of identical studies. It comes from quantum physics, and the unifying field theory. Anyway, suffice it to say, I remain convinced that mercury is the most toxic substance that regularly makes it into our mouths (fillings), air (coal), and oceans. With Autism going from 1 in 10,000 children in the 70's to where it is today, 1 in 166, I'd say there is a strong argument there for environmental interference. When you consider that a mother passes mercury to her child while pregnant and through breastfeeding, it is not difficult to see how mercury adds up in each successive generation. I'm not down on vaccines, but I wonder with so many heavy metals still in them (as well as a bunch of other chemicals), why do we give so many at the same time at such young ages, before the baby's immune system has developed to be strong enough for both the vaccine, and to process the metals? It doesn't make sense to me. In any event, I think vaccinating your child on the recommended AMA timeline is a personal choice, and with so much controversial data out there on what's really going into your child's bloodstream, I'd recommend that every parent take the time to really understand the different perspectives on this issue.

Yea I have Aspergers . But just relax I will try to talk to you like normel.
here we go . The autism DNA strand is called X6 looking and above that is( A )heigh level in mercury with peopel like me...true Albert Einstein and Isaac Newton may have had Asperger syndrome, but when Issac newtown died there were massive amounts of Mercury!MMR Did Do IQ test that what alot of it was about
The babys of to day but not born there mind will grow with injected mercury and I think skipy 5 to 9 Depending on ratio of men an woman may be peopel like me Do you think this is wrong!
THATs if you under stand me !
Mercury Kills the Brain no way come on -look at cigarettes and whats it all going to do to the next generation is going to be some veary heigh money for the tobaco co.there additive addiction is some one more like to smoke
if there prents smoked .Are peopel going to be wourd inventivtior s If there fokes had Aspergers?
I dont know how the scientists had worked it out I think it will help me If I know how thay preeccdent with extraplated infomation or was it worked out on a sesional ratio ???I think some of you are on the right track But
I like where I am on clould 9 na. Im prettie normel I think just ask some weard qustions to other s I really need ancers to so no one give up great web site
