Odd looking dryer balls
When I saw these the first time, I thought no way they can work! Months later, I thought to myself if they do work, though, that means no more buying dryer sheets or fabric softener, which is more often than not toxic with nasty perfumes not to mention expensive.
When I finally ordered them, I was surprised to find that, though they make quite a racket in the dryer tumbling around, they really do work. My clothes were soft and didn't have noticeable static, the two things fabric softener is supposed to eliminate. I was bummed that they are made out of plastic, but they're totally reusable, and can't say that much for the plastic bottles my old fabric softener came in.
Now that I no longer have to buy fabric softener, I can buy non toxic/safe detergent more easily because of the money I'm not spending on softener. And less junk is getting into the water.
I say, give em a try. Just don't try to sleep near the dryer while they're going, it sounds like a 2 year old's drum circle.
