We finally bought some cfl light bulbs for our lamp. We had been discussing whether to get clfs or led lights - the argument was that cfls have mercury in them and could be dangerous if they broke versus the leds would save just as much energy and not be as dangerous. Well in the end, when our standard light bulbs finally died, we kept seeing these ecobulbs at Walgreens and the leds weren't there. So we bought these and I'm happy. They take a second or two to come on and the color of the light, a bit colder than your standard light bulbs, but I just think it takes a little getting used to. They use only 14 watts and are guaranteed to last up to 9 years. One green step at a time...
