Sustainable to the bone

I just discovered European Sleep Design and their wonderful owners, Jill and Chip Huckaby. They are not just another mattress store. Their commitment to integrity goes bone deep, and that includes their commitment to sustainability.

First, there's the product - all natural bedding - the best latex from managed forests, wool and cotton. No PDBEs or any of that nasty stuff that causes alergic reactions.

Then, there's the commitment of the company and its owners. They are members of their utility's "green" power program, which means they are getting electricity from renewable resources. The beds themselves are made from wood harvested using sustainable forestry practices.

These people are selling commitment, not a commodity, and that really comes through. Very refreshing to find a company like this. Delightful people.
