Great for Camping, Great for Travel!
They definitely have their place - Sponge Cloths work great for camping. I used them traveling throughout Europe as a wash cloth (cut in squares) and as a towel to wick away moisture. They dry quickly, which is great when you're on the road. However, at home, I prefer using cloth wash rags and cloth hand towels in the kitchen (1) to avoid the over-use of paper towels, which were originally designed and intended for occasional use, and (2) to avoid accumulated bacteria that sponges harbor.

The sponges can be washed in the dishwasher, boiled, or microwaved to be sanitized. Boiling makes them almost like new.

Thanks for the sanitation tips, Daniel! I did not think about using a dishwasher or microwave. And, yes, they are as good as new, once laundered.
