Food Waste Bags
Description: 3 gallon size kitchen compost bag.
They biodegrade...too soon
I bought these bags eager for a sustainable garbage bag option. But when I put them into my kitchen trash can, after about a week, they were a sweaty mess - the bag broke so I had to double up and now I can't use them without a paper bag liner inside them. We recycle so much, the only waste that really goes into our trash is compostable veggies etc. But the moisture I guess is too much, and since we don't accummulate enough to fill the can quickly, we don't empty the trash but once a week or less. I hate to waste more bags and would rather have a compost bin, but the one we had is full and we don't have a yard to put it in...as we live in an apartment. I feel like getting rid of my trash can and taking the waste out each day in a bucket or something, into the dumpster. Or flushing it down the toilet? Anyone have a better idea? Thanks!

This is a rather late comment, but BioBags makes a breathable small compost bin for this exact purpose. Because the bags let moisture escape, when you put them in a plastic garbage can the entire design of the bag is kind of defeated. The small compost bin combined with the small food waste bags lets the moisture escape so the food dries out instead of turning to mush. If you're not creating that much waste, this would probably be a better option.
