Description: Thrift store helping individuals with career services.
I have to confess - I hate thrift stores. They smell dreadful -- the clothing doesn't impress me much and I try to avoid them.
There are a few things I look for at these kind of thrift stores: housewares & pictureframes.
I've found some great bargains at this thrift store - particularly picture frames. Never spend money on picture frames again -- buy frames for both the frame and the glass -- there are some frames that are really easy to re-use (the extruded aluminum type with clips) and even crappy frames in standard sizes with good glass are a score if only for the glass. Cutting your own mats is not difficult. You can also get good housewares at this Goodwill - cheap wineglasses and such.
The SF Goodwill has some great information on their site -- they have diverted 75% of all donated materials from landfill and placed 700 folks in jobs. They also recycle computers and peripherals and have diverted 1.2 million pounds of that stuff from landfills. Good for the planet - definitely!
