Bananas and Green Bags
I have to agree with Caroline ... I bought Green Bags specifically for bananas and that has proven to be a huge mistake. I use a lot of bananas and was hoping these bags would solve the problem of them going overly ripe too quick. I put the bananas in the bag, folded it over according to the directions and watched for any build-up of condensation and would wipe the inside of the bag dry when I saw any moisture. Trouble is ... wherever the bag touches any of the bananas, the skin turns black and wherever the skin is black, then the banana itself turns mushy and translucent ... not good! Should I wrap the bananas in paper towels or something else so the Green Bag can't touch the skin of the banana? If not ... then the TV ads and the picture on the box is very misleading because there is no way the bananas are staying anywhere close to "fresh" for 9 days! I've also got some veggies in the fridge in these bags and I'll wait to see how they do!
