A CSA in your suburban backyard
Local produce doesn't get any easier, tastier or healthier than this for Chicago western suburbanites. The Green Earth Institute, now in its fourth year, is an organic vegetable farm in the heart of Naperville. Full or half shares of their organic vegetables are available from June through October. Choose weekly pickup on Tuesdays or Fridays for purchasers or full shares, biweekly for half shares. Recipes are provided at each pickup. Last year, frozen, locally-raised chickens were also available for purchase on some pickup days. Talk with Steve, the passionate farmer who plans, plants, harvests and maintains the farm along with interns and volunteers, then take your veggies home, spread them out on the counter and look at how beautiful they are! And the ultimate reward - tasty, healthy food that pleases both your palate and your body.
