Natto superstar

Natto is a traditional Japanese food made from fermented soybeans, popular for breakfast. It has a strong flavor, and distinctive smell. It is an aquirred taste for some because of the smell, flavor, and sticky consistency. I love it. Natto contains pyrazine (which gives it that stickiness) and pyrazine has been found to reduce blood clotting. It contains large amounts of vitamin K which is good for bones and combatting osteoporosis.

In addition to it's purported health benefits, watching your friends faces when they eat natto for the first time is priceless.

James E. says:

Natto takes terrible I think, but the folk remedies in Japan drew so much attention to the enzymatic strength and heart-healthy aspects within Natto, that is has been studied extensively around the world, and the science says that this is an excellent cardio vascular support enzyme. If you don't like the taste of it, try Nattokinase, which is a supplement that concentrates the enzyme. You can read about it here:

If you have any issues or concerns with over-clotting of your blood (which can be caused by excessive sugar consumption, environmental pollutants, stress, lack of sufficient water intake, and many of other things), you may want to check this out in more detail. Some people also take it before long flights to help prevent the blood clotting that forms sometimes in the legs and can lead to major problems for people if the clots move around the body before being broken up.
