Sleeptek's Organic Cotton Shredded Natural Latex Pillow
Hooray. It is safe to say that this pillow, (in addition ongoing chiropractic, acupuncture, and daily stretching) has helped/relieved, even completely alleviated on some days, my neck and upper back pain. Before this, I had one conventional poly/cotton pillow that was too high/big poofy and one conventional poly/cotton pillow that used to be comfortable, but seems to have lost its shape and supportive qualities as it aged (it's about 5-6 years old, past the age that regular pillows are supposed to live), and my neck was killing me. At worst, I'd started waking up in the night from lack of neck support and pain along with it.
The wonderful thing about this pillow is that it is so malleable, and shape-able and basically personally customizable, and you shape it to support you as you wish, and it actually stays that way throughout the night. I also quite honestly, like the faint scent of the natural latex that it's currently emitting (I got it less than a week ago.) This pillow sleeps a lot cooler than my conventional cotton/poly pillows do as well.
My one complaint is not about the pillow itself, but the information card that comes with it is really unclear as to the care instructions, I'm not sure if it's saying that the whole pillow is machine washable (i've heard that natural latex when wet, weighs a ridiculous ton), or just th removable organic cotton cover. I'm planning on calling the company about that one of these days.
Although the warranty is only about 3 years, I know that natural latex has a very long life and I hope that this pillow goes strong for many more years than the less expensive conventional pillows in my past lasted (it better, considering the substantial price!). I am a really big advocate of 100% natural latex for its immensely clean (dust mites and other nasty microorganisms cannot grow in it) and hypoallergenic, environmentally sustainable and biodegradable properties.

BEWARE SLEEPING ON A SPONGY PILLOW AS THIS SOUNDS, CAUSES YOUR NECK MUSCLES TO WORK ALL NIGHT EXHAUSTING THEM. EVEN IF IT SEEMS TO BE BETTER NOW, YOU MAY PAY A DEAR PRICE FOR IT. I HOPE THATS NOT THE CASE AND YOU ENJOY ENDLESS HOURS OF RESTFUL SLEEP.

Norell is right. Went to visit my mother, who dug out an old (at least 30 years old) foam rubber pillow from her closet. It put my goose down pillow at home to shame, and I slept wonderfully on it. It is a "firm" one. I unzipped the old metal zipper to check its condition - the pillow was slightly oxidized and crumbly on the outside for about 1/8th of an inch, and the rest of it was like new. Yes, they really do last forever.
