I don't see any specific reviews of what this company actually does, here or on the padma website.

Ken O: Um, dude--did you vist the website? Not only did I say some of the things they do in my review but this sampling of what they do is right from the website:

Consulting programs for sustainability
Alternative Energy Solutions (wind, solar, hydro, bio-fuels...)
Low Mass Vehicles, neighborhood vehicles, mass transit solutions
Geodesic, Monolithic and advanced homes
Sustainable Business programs
Bio-mass fuel production
Recycling and reuse solutions
Brownfield remediation
Wetlands restoration.
Training and training video

Hi Corin, the reason I commented in the first place is that I found the website confusing. It sounds great at first glance, but all very meta somehow. I'm all for spreading the green message and doing real work on the ground. I'm sure it's possible for one startup company to do all the work listed above but only on a small scale. Most businesses execute on one thing and do it well. Any more and focus is lost.

I guess I am more interested in seeing case studies and photos. The site only contains text talking about what this company purportedly does. There's no proof to back anything up and the testimonials page is broken.

I also googled PG and found

http://dagpabon.blog.com/

which didn't inspire much confidence.
Maybe you can point me to case studies and photos of actual projects? Thanks.

Hi Ken: I realize that your intentions are good and that you're very enthusiastic about sustainability and I really do appreciate what your trying to do. But I think some things need to be brought to light. First you cannot link an individual with a corporation this way--legally they are separate entities and is libelous to make such an accusation. Second, I think you should visit these blogs about the author of the rickross/ dagpabon blogs you quoted:

I don't think you want to use this guy as a cornerstone of your argument. Consensus is this guy is crazy. Everyone agrees that his research is dubious and and that he is unethical. As someone said about him on the same website you quoted: "...you are one of the slimiest, most hypocritical, barking mad a**holes it have ever been my misfortune to encounter. I have met some in my time believe me. 90% of your contributions to this thread have been counter productive. In my view you would be better off spending time in counseling, rather than wasting it here." ( source: http://forum.rickross.com/read.php?12,25113,52947)

As for the rick ross person--he seems just as dubious if not more so:

As for Padma Gonpo, Inc--just email them on the website. I'm certain they will tell you all about what they do. I'm telling you, these guys are the real deal in sustainability. The case studies will become public this coming year--they are working on some stuff that is very news worthy.

Peace to you, Ken.

I think the original (and only) point still stands that the website is unhelpful. You shouldn't have to email them to find out what they do.

Padma Gonpo Inc. is a multidisciplinary sustainability company that can design and implement a custom sustainability plan for an individual, institution or municipality. They have some in-house or contracted custom manufacturing capability, but they're not limited to a certain set of products -- though there are some that they seem to favor because of their effectiveness and quality.

True sustainability goes way beyond "green" -- more than organic paper towels and green cleaning products, more than just a recycling bin. These folks will help with personnel and staffing problems, training, certifications and wealth management -- then turn around an clean up a brownfield and manage construction site waste streams. To have an extraordinary company, you have to start with extraordinary people -- and PGI has them.

They understand that sustainability must be systemic -- and I think many sustainability mavens are coming to see it that way, too.
