Not sure if i could recycle the bottle

This soap is paraben free, and smells good, but the plastic jar it comes in was #1 and I'm not sure if I can recycle it in my area. It's a bottle, but it's not a drink bottle. I'd feel bad buying a natural product and having to throw the bottle away. I know this company sells replacement jugs so you can buy in bulk.
