Mostly good declorination
I bought my shower de chlorinated from the Life kind website. It's about $50 with shipping. Chlorine is typically used to treat municipal water, but it's problematic: When it's heated up in the shower, it turns into a gas. Your skin is your biggest organ, and it absorbs that gas, and you get some through your lungs too--10 times more during a 15-minute shower than when you drink 8 glasses of chlorinated water a day. Chlorine has been linked with cancer among other diseases, and it can combine with other chemicals in water to form carcinogens, including dioxins. The device itself is easy to install, if a bit clunky, and I'm a bit tall, so it lowers my showerhead a little bit. It didn't really affect flow, and worked fine (though honestly, I didn't notice an immediate difference). The filter is supposed to last for up to 9 months, which is pretty good; but when the life of mine was over, I didn't replace it. It's simple enough to use and gave me some peace of mind, but what I'd really like to do is install a de chlorinated on the inflow of water to my house, when I get a house.
