Silverjet, the world's first carbon neutral airline, offsets their CO2 emissions by investing in carbon-friendly projects around the world. Silverjet operates a daily non-stop business class service between London and New York, starting around $1,800. Silverjet mandates that each ticket purchase includes a carbon offset contribution, providing fliers with the opportunity to reinvest "Carbon Points" into their carbon-friendly, climate-friendly projects.
From what I understand, their ride is not too bad either! Their luxury level is high with award-winning flat beds, a quiet zone, laptop-computability, with a state-of-the-art entertainment system and gourmet meals. How green their in-flight amenities are, I don't know.
On the horizon, once Silverjet's current routes prove to be established as profitable, they plan to launch schedules that will offer lower fares, and business class services operating on additional long-haul routes.
