When remodeling our kitchen, we wanted to go with an "eco" friendly floor. I had learned that the NRDC office in Santa Monica had been designed green. I contacted them, and they recommended Smith & Fong Plyboo.
After looking around at bamboo flooring, we were hesitant about using it because it seemed to dent pretty easy. We decided to go ahead and try bamboo flooring and live with the dents. While at the office, we discovered strand bamboo. This type of bamboo flooring is engineered and is stronger than other bamboo flooring. After a year with our floor, it looks beautiful, and we feel good about it since our floor was manufactured by a product that is a renewable resource. Most of the bamboo flooring is emission free!
