Comments on Erica's review of Source Toothbrush
Source Toothbrush
Description: Toothbrush with handle made from plant sources.
Not my "Source" for Oral Hygiene
I've been disappointed by my Source toothbrush, by Radius. Initially attracted to the "100% renewable" claim on the package and the interesting handle design, I've found this to be a less-than-desirable choice. The handle is made from plant fibers, and comes with a replaceable brush head (recommended length of use per head: 90 days).
Unfortunately, the handle is also so bulbous that it doesn't fit in any standard travel case or toothbrush holder. The bristles are also so soft that it's difficult to get a good clean feeling during normal brushing (at least with the "medium" version that I purchased). I find myself hankering for a traditional toothbrush, one that I'll be able to travel with more easily, and use for a better twice-daily cleaning.

Greetings!
Thank you for your honest review. We chose soft bristles as these are recommend by dentist for the care of gums and to prevent damage or irritation to the gums while brushing.
We do carry a travel case on our website specifically for the Source and Intelligent toothbrush. We also have an Original toothbrush that has won design awards and sits in the permanent collection of the National Design Museum, Smithsonian Institute. The travel cases for those brushes along with the similar Scuba will be available within the next several months.
There are many toothbrushes on the market today that have larger handles and also do not fit into "standard" travel cases. We went for a larger more ergonomic handle to improve manual brushing efficacy. Just read post from NY Times (they actually display our Intelligent) http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/17/garden/17toothbrush.html
As far as sustainablity goes we stand 100% behind our products and our Source brush handle is made from 100% recycled materials. 50% Recycled Wood Fibers from waste wood such as sawdust and 50% recycled soda bottles.
The packaging is SmartCycle.
