The Earth Moved: On the Remarkable Achievements...
Description: Book by Amy Stewart.
fascinating and accessible
This book takes a practical and somewhat scientific look at earthworms and the role they play in our world. Amy Stewart writes really simply and well. She takes the reader from purchasing the worm bin and worms she feeds and houses in her backyard in CA, to the midwest where non-native worms are wreaking havoc on natural ecosystems, to a waste treatment center that uses worms to work through some of it's "product"...
It's a very interesting read if you're a gardener, farmer, ecologist, or interested in waste management. Maybe it's a great read for everyone, but I find that some people don't necessarily like talking about wiggly worms. But I love them.
I strongly recommend this book.
