Comments on Cris' review of The Joinery
Description: Makers of handcrafted hardwood furniture. The largest gallery of handcrafted furniture in Oregon. Building custom and contemporary styles with imagination our only limitation.
Crafted with an Eco-Conscience
About five years ago, I met folks from The Joinery at an Art Festival in Bend, Oregon. I was very impressed with their quality furniture, fine craftsmanship, and their commitment to environmental stewardship. In particular, I was interested in their finish technique, using tung, linseed, and soybean.
Having written training materials for the secondary woods products industry, and co-owned a commercial cabinet manufacturing company, I am highly recommending this company and their products, based on the inventory I saw on display, and the conversation I had with their representatives.
Any woodworking company that can maintain their niche in the handcraft furniture marketplace for twenty-five years has established a solid clientèle, a good reputation, a strong referral network based on sound business principles, an excellent product, and in their case, a commitment to sustainability that continues to have a positive impact on the trade and consumers alike.
