Comments on Jenn's review of Tomato Paste
Go organic for anything with tomatoes!
Tomatoes have such a thin skin and they are about 98% water -- they absorb everything that contacts them as they grow. Do you really want to eat tomatoes that have been treated with chemicals and pesticides that wouldn't be safe for you to eat?
Muir organic pasta sauce is a great staple to have in the house -- it's way better than buying a jar of tomato sauce, for example, because you just need to add water.
Don't waste your time or money by buying those tiny little cans of tomato paste! Unused tomato paste freezes really well in an ice cube tray or you can spoon it onto a plate or cookie sheet to freeze. I keep 1 Tbsp size portions in the freezer since many recipes call for 1-2 Tbsp for sauces.
Don't forget to rinse the can before you put it in the recycling bin!
