Credo Long Distance--Don't do me any favors
My partner and I signed up for Working Assets Long Distance years ago. We had a flat 10 cents/minute LD rate that was a little high but competitive and we liked the service and the work WALD did. Then WALD became Credo. And Credo decided to switch us to a plan with a mandatory $5.95/month plan--pretty standard in the industry, but i thought being atypical was what they were all about? Next came the party politics. I'd always liked that when WALD issued notices about a politician or elected official, the basis was always a particular issue--a stance on the environment or civil liberties. Now, however, there's a decidedly partisan feel just for the sake of it. Democrats good, Republicans bad. The final straw was when i started getting email (and by the way, how the heck did they get my email alias??) telling me how corrupt John McCain is because cell towers were put on his ranch. I resent the blatant campaigning. This is not what i had in mind when we signed up for 1 percent of our charges to be applied to "progressive non-profits." I'm canceling our service today.
