SustainLane Green Film Awards 2009

Each year, Hollywood’s finest parade down the red carpet in hopes of fetching one of the film industry’s top honors: an Academy Award. In the spirit of the upcoming Oscars, we at SustainLane are giving out our own awards - for the best green films. We asked you, our de facto “academy,” to vote, and you did. And so, without further ado, we announce Sustainlane's 2009 Green Oscar Winners, as well as the winners of five stainless steel water bottles — our thanks to you for voting.

Film Most Likely to Make You Ditch Your Gas Guzzler

And the winner is...

Film Most Likely to Change Your Eating Habits

The nominees are:

The Future of Food

King Corn

The Real Dirt on Farmer John

How to Save the World

Super Size Me

And the winner is...

Best Film Exposé of Today's Environmental Issues

11th Hour

Zeitgeist

Erin Brockovich

March of the Penguins

All environmental films have one goal in common: to make the viewer say, "Wow, there's a really problem out there, we ought to do something about it. I have to do something about it." This category had a near unanimous vote for the winner.
