Recycle and Compost

Denver offers free curbside recycling to single family homes in Denver. Register for this service and help us reach our landfill waste diversion goal of 30% by 2012. If each household composted and recycled their waste – food and lawn - we could reduce the amount of solid waste going to landfills by over 75%. Denver has started a compost pilot for 1,000 homes, but you can begin to compost on your own. Consider taking a free compost class offered through the Denver Parks & Recreation department. Visit their website for a schedule. (Take a pic of yourself bringing a load out to the curb or composter!)
