Who are the GreenSavers?
We are people who care about putting our money where our mouth is. We care that the food we eat is organic, sustainable, and local. We care that our food isn’t contaminated with pesticides, that it is all natural and that it tastes good. We care that the clothes and accessories we wear were made by people who thought about the impact our clothes have on the planet. We care that those clothes are made sustainably and that the people making them were paid a living wage. We care that our clothes are made from all natural, renewable and when possible, organic materials. We care that our jewelry was made using fair trade practices and by people paid a living wage. We care that they contain conflict free diamonds and precious metals mined in a green, clean and sustainable manner. We care that our appliances don’t contain chemicals that are toxic to us and to the planet. We care that what we put on our bodies will make us healthier, not more toxic. We care about all aspects of our health, and avoid chemicals, pesticides, plastic, pthalates and BPA. We seek out healthful options full of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. We care that our children grow up in a healthier world than we did, not a more polluted one. We care that our children are fed healthy, complete foods not made from high fructose corn syrup or processed ingredients. We keep them eating organic, local and fresh where we can. Fruits and vegetables are at the top of our list. We care that the products in our home and garden are non-toxic and green. We care that anything we spray on the ground won’t poison our drinking water or harm our pets. We avoid any chemicals that might have an adverse effect on those we love. We care that the gifts we give convey both our feelings and our values. We care that we don’t give other people petrochemical products we would never touch ourselves. With every gift, we try to make the world a better place, not a more polluted one. We care that our office is just as sustainable as our home. We care that our supplies are not made from virgin materials unless absolutely necessary. We reclaim as much as we can, and recycle what we can’t. We care that we treat our pets with the same regard for their health as we would any other member of our family. We care that they eat natural, organic and healthy too. We care that we don’t dunk them in chemical laden baths, when natural ones work as well if not better. We care about how we spend our money. And most importantly: we think that buying green doesn’t have to be expensive.
