Position Summary:
The Constituent and Community Outreach Manager conducts and coordinates the domestic outreach and partnership development at Earth Day Network. The manager will liaison with Earth Day 2010 staff to support Earth Day Network’s (EDN) Earth Day 2010 initiatives. A direct focus will be put on domestic outreach. The manager is responsible for the facilitation of special projects related to Earth Day 2010 and will play a major roll in the planning, design, and implementation of all efforts to enhance and continue to develop the EDN partnership network.

Responsibilities
- Build and manages relationships with key stakeholders related to EDN 2010 development, including domestic organizations, educational institutions, private and non-profit organizations, employer trade associations, economic development organizations, local and state governments, and other appropriate organizations/individuals
- Conduct outreach to elected officials (in DC and across the country) to encourage their participation in EDN projects and their support for EDN initiatives
- Liaise with domestic organizations to identify local interests, needs and new opportunities for public engagement and to develop joint programs with EDN
- Coordinating EDN’s participation in green celebrations and other public events
- Encourage coordination and networking amongst domestic development groups with government and non government organizations
- Market research of potential domestic partners for EDN
- Create, expand, and maintain a national database of partnerships
- Identify new partnership opportunities to enhance EDN's 40th global celebration
- Communicate effectively with other organizations and individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information
- Liaise with Earth Day 2010 staff and campaign to further goals of organization specific to the promotion of our signature Earth Day events
- Regularly report on progress of the campaign and ensure that goals and objectives are met
- Develop clear and concise communication material for outreach purposes
- Use social networking tools, website updates/improvements, marketing materials, and beyond to generate virtual working relationships with individuals and organizations across the country.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s is preferred
- Experience and proven track record of success in organizing communities and individuals around an issue and constituent outreach
- Strength in multi-tasking, goal-setting and workload prioritization
- Working on public relations projects designed to mobilize national support
- A strong interest in and knowledge of current environmental issues or other related issue advocacy topics
- Strong demonstrated communication and public speaking skills
- Proven track record of being detail oriented, with good organizational skills and follow-through
- Superior verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills and ease in working cooperatively with diverse individuals, youth and adults, while maintaining a high level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity
- Demonstrated capacity for independent management of multiple projects
- Enthusiastic collaboration with other staff and organizations
- Flexible schedule and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in coordinating media relations
- Other duties are assigned by the Global Director for Earth Day 2010

Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of professional experience focused on coalition building, grassroots or field campaign organizing, environmental issue advocacy, and public speaking
- Experience planning and evaluating programs
- Comfortable handling multiple tasks
- Experience or ability to speak other languages desirable
- Team player with outstanding interpersonal skills
- Highly motivated individual of demonstrated highest integrity with a positive attitude
- Ability to work under pressure
- Broad vision for future possibilities
