Position Overview:

We are currently seeking an entry level Environmental Specialist for our Jacksonville, FL and South Florida offices. The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for environmental field work, assisting our sustainability consultants and supporting documentation efforts. Field work will entail site assessment and remediation activities as well as the collection of soil, groundwater and waste samples.

Sustainability support will entail data collection, synthesis and interpretation. The successful candidate will also assist in preparation of data tables and figures for permits, Phase I audits, contamination assessments, remedial action plans and associated progress reports.

Qualifications:

  • Requires accredited Bachelors in geology, environmental science or related curriculum.
  • Requires 0-4 years of prior work experience, and Ability to lift at least 60 pounds, work in hot, humid Florida conditions and achieve project objectives.
  • Maintenance of accurate field records
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel and Internet research
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills (i.e. writing samples required).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 40-hour OSHA Hazardous Waste training
  • Experienced with FDEP sampling requirements
  • Contamination assessment and remediation experience
  • Willingness to travel
