Our mission is to provide cutting edge medicine and advocacy, regardless of ability to pay. Through our healthcare centers, pharmacies, health plan, research and other activities, AHF provides access to the latest HIV treatments for all who need them.
We care for over 11,000 men and women in California, Florida and New York. We recently opened demonstration clinics in South Africa and Uganda.
Responsibilities:
- Manages all aspects of the HIV Testing and Prevention programs in Northern California, including budget management, creating regular reports, scheduling testing services and supervision of staff.
- Serves as AHF’s lead liaison and coordinator for the CDC sponsored joint project in San Francisco.
- Creates and is responsible for all financial and contractual documentation for the CTR program funded by the CDC.
- Monitors and ensures the quality of the CTR services provided as well as data collected. Ensures that services are provided within all applicable guidelines.
- Works collaboratively with API Wellness to ensure the intervention and services are offered in a consistent manner and with support of entire program staff, including AHF.
- Attends coordinated meetings with API Wellness on a regular basis. Also attends other local community meetings as needed.
- Assists with the development of the Mpowerment Intervention: including adaptation of the program for transgender youth of color and oversee the evaluation component of the program.
- Monitors progress towards contract goals and makes additions and/or changes in order to facilitate program progress where necessary.
- Provides CTR services as needed.
- Reports regularly to the Deputy Director of Policy and Projects regarding scope of work, staff issues, services offered and program development.
- Attends and participates in trainings necessary to compliment this positions scope of work and/or those trainings identified by the Deputy Director of Policy and Projects.
- Participation in AHF Meetings/Committees
- Attends coordinated meetings between AHF and API Wellness. Attends other department meetings as needed.
- Supervisory Responsibilities.
- Supervise one full time and four part time staff.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B.A) or three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer/Software Skills & Abilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Office Word Processing software and Accounting Software.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Basic Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
High Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Other Skills & Abilities/Qualifications
Must be able to travel 25 % of the time.
Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
Sensitivity to the issues surrounding HIV and AIDS.
Skill in communicating openly on sexual topics without prejudice.
Spanish language skills are a plus.
Familiarity in working with the Transgender population desired.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
Current San Francisco County or California State HIV Pre and Post Test Counselor Certification including: Basic I, Basic II, and Rapid Test Certifications.
Valid California drivers license with proof of liability insurance.
Compensation:
This is a full-time regular position and the salary range for the position is $42,000-$48,000/yr based on experience.
