Ever increasing human activity has taken an impactful toll on the planet’s health and the need to change behaviors has never been so great. But from these challenges has arisen the unprecedented opportunity to again organize the global population in an effort to stop global warming, fight climate change and build a green future around a single platform. Earth Day 2010 is that opportunity.

Position Summary:
The International Outreach Manager for Earth Day 2010 will liaison with the Earth Day 2010 staff in supporting Earth Day Network’s (EDN) Earth Day 2010 initiatives, with a direct focus on international community outreach. The International Outreach Manager will be responsible for the facilitation of special projects related to Earth Day 2010 and the planning, design, and implementation of all efforts to enhance and continue to develop the EDN global partnership network. The International Outreach Manager will be responsible for the growth of our global network of partnerships and organizations. This person must ensure the accomplishment of EDN 2010 goals and objectives in a timely manner.

We seek an energetic and dynamic professional to coordinate and support such initiatives for Earth Day 2010.

Responsibilities
- Outreach to an extensive existing network of international non-profit leaders, public officials, and corporations to promote EDN’s initiatives and meet goals for EDN’s 40th Anniversary campaign
- Inform and recruit new international partners and coalitions to support EDN’s upcoming 40th Anniversary initiatives with a particular focus on the Billion Acts of Green project
- Market research of potential international partners for EDN
- Build partnerships with non-government organizations to create international coalitions, including developing proposals based on EDN’s policies and interests
- Create, expand, and maintain a global database of partnerships
- Develop coordination plans for international partners
- Liaise with Earth Day 2010 staff to further goals of organization specific to the promotion of our signature Earth Day events
- Regularly report on progress of the campaign and ensure that goals and objectives are met
- Work with the Earth Day 2010 staff to make Earth Day 2010 materials culturally relevant for international audiences

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience and proven track record of success in organizing individuals and corporations, international outreach and proven results in major partnership development
- Strength in multi-tasking, goal-setting and workload prioritization
- Working on projects designed to mobilize international support and/or strong international work experience
- A strong interest in and knowledge of current environmental issues or other related issue advocacy
- Strong demonstrated communication and public speaking skills
- Proven track record of being detail oriented, with good organizational skills and follow-through
- Superior verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills and ease in working cooperatively with diverse individuals, youth and adults, while maintaining a high level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity
- Demonstrated capacity for independent management of multiple projects
- Enthusiastic collaboration with other staff and organizations
- Flexible schedule and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in coordinating media relations
- Other duties are assigned by Global Director of Earth Day 2010

Requirements:
- 3 - 5 years of professional experience focused on coalition building, and/or program implementation
- Experience planning and evaluating programs
- Comfortable handling multiple tasks
- Experience or ability to speak other languages desirable
- Team player with outstanding interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated with good leadership skills and the ability to work under pressure
- Broad vision for future possibilities
