The Rodale Institute, whose decades of scientific research demonstrate that organic farming can mitigate climate change by sequestering carbon dioxide in soil carbon, seeks an intern to bring our scientific research to policy makers.

Focused on climate change and famine prevention, the Rodale Institute advocates policies that draw on our scientific research to produce healthy people on a healthy planet. The Policy division is also leading Rodale's new outreach to faith-based groups interested in caring for the planet.

Responsibilities:

Policy interns will:

  • Do vast amounts of reading and background research on climate change and agriculture.
  • Write summaries, advocacy letters, emails and blog postings.
  • Make phone calls and developing relationships with people engaged in agriculture and climate change.
  • Develop data analysis skills by building simple models and testing complex models of agricultural systems.
  • Partner with faith based groups working on environmental issues.
