We currently promote and distribute organic products for those very same projects; including certified organic sugar cane products, organic chocolate/cocoa products, coconut, fruits and nuts, juice concentrates and others.
Position Overview:
Due to our continued growth we are seeking a proactive, resourceful and strategic Purchasing Manager to become the next addition to our team of professionals. In this very visible role you will travel around the globe to identify and qualify new vendors. Additiionally, you will negotiate contracts and develop product cost of goods while ensuring compliance with Company standards and federal and foreign laws and regulations governing the purchase, documentation and distribution of imported/exported food products.
Qualifications:
- 5 years purchasing experience; strong negotiating and contracts familiarity.
- Experience with food commodities, global markets an/or organic foods a must.
- Bi-lingual in one of the following languages; Spanish, French, Portuguese, German
- Excellent time management skills with strong follow-through and follow-up.
- Ability to professionally interact (written and verbal) with vendors, customers, contractors and all internal and external contacts.
- Exposure to and a corroborated sensitivity to different cultures and ethnic backgrounds.
- Proficient with Excel functions as well as strong MS Office programs. MAC a plus.
- Valid passport for international travel-25%
- BS/BA required; food science, chemistry, micro-biology, nutrition science preferred.
