We lowered our thermostat to 65 degrees for winter. We used to run it around 69 so this has saved us about 4 degrees and some cash on the gas bill for winter as well as CO2 output. It's chilly but that's what sweatshirts are for!

Are you in an apartment or a house you can insulate? I read once that wearing less at home or turning the heating down is also good for people trying to lose weight, but I wouldn't overdo it. Luckily my LEED Silver apartment has all double-pane glass and "insulation" in the form of the next tenant...
