Review of Coconut Milk by Whole Foods

1 star rating July 8, 2007 | Posted in Food & Grocery

365 Organic Lite Coconut Milk This was so much cheaper than the other brands of organic light coconut milk that I had to try it.

Unfortunately the price is about all it has going for it. You can hardly tell it's coconut, it's that tasteless.

Review of Maple Pecan Crisp by Peace Cereal

2 star rating Review of Maple Pecan Crisp July 8, 2007 | Posted in Food & Grocery

Peaceful maybe, but healthy? The company name made me curious, but when I read the list of ingredients on the box I decided not to buy or eat. Sugar is third, disguised as "organic evaporated cane juice", and there are at least two other types of sugar further down the list, leaving out the maple syrup.

The company might be...

Review of Water by Ethos

1 star rating Review of Water June 5, 2007 | Posted in Water

Charity for whom? Ethos Water sells for almost $2 a bottle in most Starbucks outlets, but only 5 cents out of every sale goes to their highly bannered goal of donating $10 million to help children obtain clean water.

Drop a quarter into the box for a reputable charity and find another source of H2O.

Review of Aluminum Water Bottle by Sigg

3 star rating Review of Aluminum Water Bottle June 5, 2007 | Posted in Water

Sigg Water Bottle These bottles are light enough to carry comfortably and totally leak-proof. I inherited mine by accident, so I had to take what was there, but you can order custom colors and designs.

Review of Brown Ale by Wolaver's

3 star rating Review of Brown Ale June 5, 2007 | Posted in Beer, Wine & Spirits

Good, but an acquired taste A friend in Portland raved about this beer, so I found a local supply. It's organic - and I don't really want to drink beer that isn't - but also a little different in taste from what I'm used to. I don't think that's because it's organic!

Review of Santa Cruz Coffee Roasting

3 star rating Review of Santa Cruz Coffee Roasting May 24, 2007 | Posted in Watsonville, Tasty Drinks

Organic Coffee This is excellent coffee from a company that is doing it right. I appreciate the fact that all of their coffee is fair-trade. Their decaf is one of the best I've ever had.

Review of Tea Tree Oil by Tea Tree Therapy

1 star rating Review of Tea Tree Oil May 9, 2007 | Posted in Skin & Body Care

Tea Tree Oil This is one of those "natural" products for which there are so many claims made, I don't know what to believe. Does anyone have a real success story using tea tree oil?

Review of Peppermint Organic Liquid Soap by Dr.Bronner's Magic Soaps

4 star rating Review of Peppermint Organic Liquid Soap May 3, 2007 | Posted in Skin & Body Care

Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Soap This is the best - buy a gallon jug and get set for a bracing surge of the most wonderful peppermint every time you shower. If you scrub hard enough, you can actually feel the tingle.

You won't smell like peppermint for the rest of the day unless you forget to rinse behind your ears.

Review of Hubei Silver Tip Organic Tea by Peet's

5 star rating Review of Hubei Silver Tip Organic Tea May 3, 2007 | Posted in Tasty Drinks

Organic Green Tea This is the best green tea I've ever tried. It combines a classic green tea grass with a touch of tart that's almost lemon-like. All that and it's organic. Peet's sells it by the pound for a slight discount over the quarter-pound price.
