I did tons of research on carbon offset companies in both the US and abroad (UK, EU, Canada) and found Terrapass to be the most userfriendly, especially for gift giving. I was going to use the Carbon Neutral Company, which is probably the best in terms of effectiveness, transparency, etc, but not user friendly in a gift-giving sense. It is geared toward investors or individuals who are offsetting their own use -- and the governance is top notch. However TerraPass allowed me to calculate the flights of my significant other, who travels often, and for the holidays I offset two flights to come visit me! So it was really cute...and TerraPass is pretty transparent, and sends a newsletter every week or so.

I am all for recycled...and even try to follow Sheryl Crow's one-square rule (TMI?)...but even the 2-ply of this TP is scratchy and disintegrates so easily! There has to be a better way to produce it. SG's products are usually so effective, but this just disappoints.

I love peppermint liquid soap and peppermint bar soap. I use both on my body and face. Until I started using Dr Bronner's, I always had problems with dry and/or oily skin, but now I just use this soap and an organic Brazilian moisturizer and am problem-free! And it smells sooooooo good!!!

I like the Trader Joe's bags because of the patterns, the recycled materials used, and the fact that they are waterproof. I prefer heavy duty cloth or canvas bags, however, because they tend to be easier to clean. Whole Foods makes a bag that is produced from 80% recycled soda bottles. I think the Trader Joe's bag is produced from a lesser quantity...so I wonder...where is the plastic or polyester coming from? Is it new petroleum products? Hopefully people will reuse these bags instead of just accumulating them whenever they go to the store. But like I said, the designs are cute.

Oh my goodness...I'm so excited to find out these are vegan bags!! A store across the street from my apartment in Michigan - Adorn Me - sells these purses and wallets. I bought one for my mom and a friend who happens to be a stylist and personal shopper. She LOVED it! My mom uses her purple purse every day. It has plenty of compartments for those who like organized purses, hand straps and a removable shoulder strap. It would be great for traveling as one side has outside pockets and the other is flat - so the traveler can turn the pockets toward her (I assume) body in areas with a risk of pickpocketing. These bags and wallets are super stylish and chic. Although I gravitate toward all things eco, I also appreciate fine design and a well-made product. These purses are a combination of both!

I love the ginger version of this Kombucha. I'm not big on the regular one, partly because of the taste. Also, I don't really drink soft drinks or juice beverages, so I don't like the ones with other berry flavors. The ginger one just tastses so spicy, rich and fulfilling. It lasts forever because one can only take a few sips at a time. I have noticed much higher energy levels when drinking this in the morning with some fruit. I usually drink a bottle throughout the day. It is pricey, so obviously an indulgence, but well worth it and much more satisfying and healthy than sweets or a coffee beverage.

This is the most amazing soap for face and body, and even works as a shampoo too! Free of parabens and other harmful materials found in conventional and even many "natural" cosmetics, Dr. Bronner's smells amazing and uses truly natural and organic ingredients. Better yet, they are converting to all fair trade for their major ingredients. The bar soap works wonders on my skin (sensitive and combination) and the liquid soap I use as a shampoo when travelling. Best thing is, it's affordable!
