Delicious and inspiring
I like yerba matte, a South American herb grown for drinking in communal drinking ceremonies. It has an invigorating effect like coffee or tea, but different. And many additional health benefits, as well. I've only recently begun drinking the drink and have learned a bit about the traditional drinking ceremony involved in it's native locale. But I have not experienced this ceremony myself. I drink it for the effects & health benefits, and also because Guyaki has a socially & environmentally responsible mission to support it's business practices. I had the good fortune to talk with one of the original employees of the company, and he shared a very personal and touching story about his first experience with the traditional drinking ceremony in South America. I appreciate his willingness to share his story, and I believe that the traditions surrounding this drink can be a very meaningful experience for those who choose it to be so. At this point, I can only speak to my experiences with the drink, but I enjoy its potential and the history behind it.

What a treat!
OK, so energy bars are out there with all kinds of nutrient supplements for enhanced performance are good...a lot are tasty, too. I just had the occasion to taste the new Clif Bar Nectar (lemon, vanilla & cashew) and I tell you, energy bars without nutritional supplements are good, too...very good in this case! This bar is made with a a base of dates, so we have a delicious, naturally sweet, wonderfully textured bar. Flavors of lemon add a nice balanced tartness to the bar, and fresh organic cashews give it a strong earthiness. I was very pleased with my first "nectar" experience. I figure, I can get my nutritional supplements by eating well, and this "back to basics" trail bar does the trick for my energy & tastiness needs. Try one!
