Trader Joe's Jalapeno Jack Cheese
this hearty cheese is best when melted on toast. this brings out the richness of the dairy content, which is counterpointed by the great spikiness of the jalapeno peppers. jalapeno jack is more of a cold weather cheese, as it is very filling. the peppers might be too spicy for the less adventurous eater.

Rugelschlage (sp?) German Whole Rye
this "bread" is awesome, healthful, and very filling.
it is the perfect summer snack with cream cheese, parmesan, or any cheese, plus trader arugula on top.
it has a dense, interesting texture that probably burns more calories to chew than the bread itself has. a truly hearty foodstuff.

Organic Pasteurized Pink Lemonade
Delicious pink lemonade that is so delectable it can be a dessert on its own. Also aesthetically pleasing with its rosy color.
Highly recommended in any season.

Organic Arugula, Triple-washed, bagged
Trader's bagged organic arugula is stellar. The package describes it as triple-washed, and heretofore, i have not found it necessary to wash it again before consumption.
Generally, the leaves are in good condition if you buy a bag whose sell by date is at least four days in the future. otherwise, the arugula leaves start yellowing by the second day.
The smaller leaves taste better than the somewhat bitter large leaves, so troll for a bag with smaller leaves. Excellent on everything from pizza, to stir fry -- for the stir fry, don't cook the leaves but put them on the rice just after cooking and the steam softens them up without taking out nutrients.

Freeze-Dried Strawberries
yum and yum. this tub of freeze-dried strawberries was a happy tasty find. they are not unlike strawberry crackers, and would complement anything from yoghurt, to ice cream or chocolate (the latter being the accompaniment i chose.) fascinating crunchy, powdery texture like wafer crackers. no unnecessary additives or preservatives.

The fairest pricing in town on the majority of items.
For discount gourmet stuff, it is the place to go.
Good nut and cheese selection as well as fruit juices.
Avoid the West Hollywood branch as their stock moves much slower due to the relative inaccessibility of the store, i.e. it can only be approached from the south.
because of the lower traffic volume in stock, the bagged lettuce and cheeses are sometimes short-dated.
