These are a good idea with lots of room for improvement

I've seen quite a few of these wind-up tools and I do own a flashlight. My first objection is that they all seem to be made in China. Can't we make them in the US? And they are all made of plastic. We're still using oil for everything. To top it all off, they, or at least mine, requires 30 windings and begins to dim before my dog has finished doing his business. I'm sure we can make better ones- better led lights, more efficient. After having used it in a power outage, I know how frustrating these little items can be. Where's the ol' American know-how?
